Can I use an external DVD drive to bypass my internal DVD drive that has “corrupted files”?
HP techies say that my PC’s internal DVD drive files are “corrupted.” I want to avoid their recommendation that I reload Windows. Can I simply buy an external DVD drive with the assumption that I can read and burn to my heart’s content since it would be using a USB outlet elsewhere on the computer? I use Windows XP. Thanks for your help.
your dvd drive [hard ware] does not have corrupted files your dvd writing program [soft ware ] has a corrupted file . repair the program not the drive
