Is it possible to get a brand new DVD a bit faulty?
I got a brand new and sealed DVD disc and the first time I watched it, during one match it broke out into pixels and froze for a very quick second and i know its not a dual layer.
I also kept rewinding it and it always went wrong in the same places.
Does anyone know anything about this? is it just the manufacturers fault also i recently cleaned my lens with a lens cleaner so it can’t be that
Typically that kind of problem is caused by scratches, particles or marks on the disc causing the laser beam to be obstructed before it can read the data from that particular point on the disc. You may have inadvertently transferred something to the disc surface If your hands were not clean (or were recently in contact with food) when you were handling the disc.
It’s also possible that the data could have been corrupt while it was burned to the disc. DVD burning is especially sensitive to corruption (compared to CD burning). This problem is more of an issue with independent/amateur DVD releases because companies which do large scale DVD production use different techniques to transfer data to discs and have quality control mechanisms in place.
